Frequently Asked Questions

Practical information about project fit, design, quoting, materials and what to send when you get in touch.

Project Fit

What types of projects do you take on?

We design and build custom kitchens, bathroom vanities, laundry cabinetry, wardrobes, shelving, storage and individual timber furniture pieces. If you are unsure whether a project is a fit, email a short description and photographs of the space.

Can you work with an unusual room or awkward space?

Yes. Custom work is particularly useful where walls, corners, ceilings or circulation make standard cabinetry a poor fit. The design is developed around the actual room and the way it needs to function.

Do you modify flat-pack or existing modular cabinetry?

Our focus is purpose-built cabinetry and furniture designed as a complete project. Include details of any existing cabinetry in your enquiry so we can advise whether the work suits our process.

Design & Making

Do you provide design and installation?

Yes. The process covers consultation, design and visualisation, workshop construction and installation. Molly and Max remain involved from the initial discussion through to the finished work.

Can I choose materials, hardware and finishes?

Material and finish decisions are made as part of the design. The options need to suit the intended use, maintenance expectations, room and budget, so recommendations are discussed in the context of the project.

Do you only work with solid timber?

No single material suits every part of every project. We use suitable cabinetry materials as well as quality timber, selecting each according to function, appearance and the construction required.

Enquiries & Quoting

How does a project begin?

Start by emailing a short description of the room, the problem you want to solve and the result you have in mind. Photographs, approximate dimensions and inspiration images help us understand the scope before the first conversation.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Include your suburb, preferred timing, photographs of the room, rough measurements, the type of cabinetry or furniture required and any known material or style preferences. Exact drawings are not expected at this stage.

How long will my project take?

Timing depends on design complexity, material availability, workshop scheduling and installation requirements. We will discuss an indicative programme once the scope is clear rather than promise a generic lead time.

Locations

Where do you work?

Our workshop is in Eltham and we work across Melbourne, with a particular focus on the north-east including Greensborough, Diamond Creek, Panton Hill, Smiths Gully, Templestowe and Heidelberg. See our service areas or ask about your suburb.
